PHILADELPHIA – On Thursday, March 16th, Mayor Kenney will participate in a roundtable discussion with PHLpreK providers, teachers and parents to hear about the economic impact that quality pre-K expansion has had on neighborhood-based pre-K centers, the pre-K workforce, and families. He will also receive feedback about how to strengthen the program.
Funded by the Philadelphia Beverage Tax, PHLpreK is the City of Philadelphia’s locally-funded quality pre-K initiative. In its first year, PHLpreK has partnered with 88 pre-K programs across the city to expand affordable, quality pre-K for 2,000 three- and four-year-olds.
