PHILADELPHIA – This morning, Philadelphia’s coalition for Amazon HQ2 released a short video highlighting the city’s strategic location, global accessibility and extensive regional connectivity. The video is the first of three that will be released this week in the lead up to the official proposal deadline on Thursday, October 19. Nearly 30 representatives from the Philadelphia region’s arts, culture, culinary, athletic, academic, real estate, and business sectors were interviewed for the videos.

“The enthusiasm and support we received from so many different Philadelphia communities was inspiring,” said Rakia Reynolds, founder of Skai Blue Media, who oversaw the creative elements of Philadelphia’s bid. “These videos are just the first taste of a comprehensive, immersive bid package that will be provided to Amazon.”

The video released today features the CEO & Co-founder of Curalate, Apu Gupta, the CEO of Vanguard, Bill McNabb, Executive Vice President of Wilco Electronic Systems, Brigitte Daniel, and Wharton professor and Option B co-author, Adam Grant. The four interviews highlight the City’s logistical strengths. Only 75 minutes from New York and 100 minutes from Washington, D.C. by train, Philadelphia sits within 150 miles of a quarter of the Fortune 1000. The city is also a major international gateway with 500 daily flights, and PHL is the transatlantic hub for the world’s largest carrier, offering closer proximity to expanding markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Additionally, Philadelphia offers the second shortest commute time of any city on the East Coast by car or public transit. The city’s regional transit system has an average weekday ridership of approximately 1.1 million, and Philadelphia is ranked among the top five in the country for walkability and bikeability.

“Curalate itself has four offices – we’re in Seattle, Philadelphia, New York and London – and we’ve got over 850 clients scattered around the globe. We need to be able to travel and we need to be able to travel easily. The Philadelphia Airport is a 15-minute Uber from here. It’s incredibly convenient and it gets me anywhere I need to go, almost always non-stop,” shared Gupta in his interview.

The logistics video is the start to a week-long #PhillyDelivers campaign. Philadelphians can participate today by sharing on social media how Philly’s location and transportation infrastructure delivers for them. The Mayor will also be at PHL at 2:30PM today to cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Terminal B and to share how PHL would be an asset for Amazon.

The video was produced by Philadelphia firm, Leveler Media.
