Do you need access to public benefits and resources, but are unsure what benefits you can qualify for? Is the thought of filling out paperwork overwhelming? Visit one of our community schools during BenePhilly’s Community Schools Benefits Enrollment Series and receive one-on-one help signing up for benefits on-the-spot! BenePhilly counselors can help you:

  • Learn what benefits you qualify for
  • Fill out benefits applications
  • Follow up on an application’s status

In the months leading up to summer, the BenePhilly vehicle will be visiting community schools to help families and community members enroll in important federal, state, and local benefits. Once you meet with a BenePhilly counselor, you can find out if you qualify for help with:

  • Prescription drugs
  • Health insurance
  • Heat and other utilities
  • Property taxes
  • Food/SNAP
  • Paying for college
  • Disability benefits
  • CCIS to help pay for child care

Even if you’re short on time you can pop in the BenePhilly van for a 2-minute “quick check” to see which benefits you may qualify for. If you have time for a full appointment, bring the following documents with you:

  • ID
    • Driver’s license, state ID card, or Social Security card.
    • If you do not have ID that is okay!
    • If you are not a U.S. citizen bring immigration papers like, Green Card, Refugee records, or Employment Authorization card
  • Proof of income
    • Pay stubs from last 30 days, copy of taxes, or letters from SSI or the VA that show how much you make
  • Bills
    • Rent or mortgage, gas, electric, oil, and/or water
    • Bills or receipts for medicine or doctors visits that you paid for

Remember, you can always stop by without any paperwork to complete a “quick check” to see what you might qualify for. Visit one of these community schools between 10AM-2PM on any of the days below:
