PHILADELPHIA – All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on Thursday, November 23, in recognition of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Trash and recyclables will not be collected on Thanksgiving. Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams urges residents, whose normal collection is on Thursday, to set out their rubbish and recycling for collection on Friday, November 24. Additionally, residents whose normal collection is on Friday should set out their rubbish and recycling for collection on Saturday, November 25.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Thanksgiving, as are all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers; the Marriage License Bureau; all Department of Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.

Additionally, the City’s Disaster Assistance Services Center, which was opened to meet the needs of those who traveled to Philadelphia after being displaced by Hurricane Maria, will be closed this Thursday and Friday.

City offices will reopen on Friday, November 24, 2017.
