The Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (oTIS) has received approval from the City’s Art Commission to begin installing 100 kiosks that will provide free wi-fi and other important public services throughout the City.

The ADA compliant LinkPHL (pronounced Link Philly) kiosks will be free to use and offer bandwidth speeds up to 100 times faster than average public Wi-Fi and LTE on mobile devices. In addition to commercial advertising, the 55-inch screens will display public service announcements, information on local events, art and cultural event promotions and emergency messaging. City services, maps and directions will be available through a tablet built into the kiosk.

LinkPHL also supports the City’s SmartCityPHL initiative, focused on using new technologies to solve urban problems or to benefit our citizens. Keep your eye for the  LinkPHL kiosks that will begin appearing in 2018.   Eighty of the kiosks will be located in Center City and University City; the remaining 20 will be located in commercial corridors in other sections of the City.
