The Philadelphia Fire Department mourns the loss of Lt. Kenneth Greene Sr., who died Thursday at Einstein Hospital. Lt. Greene had been transported to the hospital Sept. 3 while on-duty at Engine 37.

Lt. Greene, 60, a veteran of the United States Army, had served the Department for 23 years on several engine and ladder companies. In 2007, his unit at Ladder 14 received a citation for helping to rescue two people from a house fire in Brewerytown.
