PHILADELPHIA – On Tuesday morning, Mayor Kenney, Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, and Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown will visit the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI), a PHLpreK provider in West Philly, to greet families during drop off, tour the center, and observe a french lesson.

Funded by the Philly Beverage Tax, PHLpreK is the City of Philadelphia’s free, quality pre-K program. CLI is the seventh pre-K program that has improved its quality since the launch of PHLpreK, having advanced from a STAR 2 to a STAR 3 on the state’s quality rating system. As a result, local funding has not only created quality pre-K for 262 students enrolled in these seven programs, but is also making quality possible for 108 additional students enrolled at these centers.
