Philadelphia-  Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, and Senator Anthony H. Williams will join local community members to host an open house and community celebration to highlight the official partnership between Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center Board.

The fun-filled day will include remarks by elected officials and community stakeholders as well as fun, interactive, and educational activities for families, community members to enjoy.

The mission of the expanded partnership is to operate a premier urban environmental education center integrating a wide range of new programs/activities such as: Youth Leadership Programs, Special Events, Festivals, Specialty Camps, Watershed Programs, Field Trips (for schools, after school programs and summer camps citywide) and much more!

VISUALS:
City officials will speak about partnership inside the environmental center. The Cobbs Creek Environmental Center staff will host building tours during the open house for all to walk through. There will be numerous fun and educational activities such as a bird walks, insect programs, arts and crafts and stories for children.
