Many people across the nation know GoPuff for its quick late night delivery of thousands of convenience items, including snacks. Not everyone knows, though, that the startup originates right here in Philadelphia!

Rafael Ilishayev and Yakir Gola, who were roommates at Drexel University, started GoPuff in 2013. The service is still used by many college students — now nationwide.

Celebrating a truly homegrown Philly business, Mayor Kenney visited the new GoPuff headquarters on July 11, 2017. Startups are vital to Philly’s continued growth, and the Department of Commerce offers programs and assistance through StartupPHL.

There at the new hub of operations on North 12th Street, the Mayor got a behind-the-scenes tour of their warehouse full of snacks and office space.

In this short time, GoPuff now employs 200 people and has expanded delivery services to Boston, Washington, Atlanta, New York, Austin, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, Seattle, and other places across the nation.
