The Mayor visits South Philadelphia High School, one of the City’s first community schools, to see its “clothing closet” program on March 7. The program functions as an exchange where students and families can get, or donate, gently used garments. The community schools initiative, funded by the Philadelphia Beverage Tax, brings a dedicated, full-time coordinator to designated schools to create programs meeting specific neighborhood needs.
