Today is the final day of the Democratic National Convention here in Philadelphia. What a week it’s been!

Thousands of Americans have come to Philly for the quadrennial gathering, and the 1.5 million Philadelphians who call the city home have welcomed those newcomers with open arms — and the occasional explanation of what “jawn” means.

Summer in Philly isn’t just about the convention though; and visitors and locals alike have countless ways to make the most of today.

Here are four of our favorite ways to celebrate Thursday.

  1. All-American Happy Hour at Dilworth Park: From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., music, games, and food and drink specials add some local flavor — literally — to the public square next to City Hall.
  2. Historic Philadelphia Declaration of Independence Reading: At three times this afternoon, Historic Philadelphia presents a festive, dramatic reading behind Independence Hall of one of our nation’s most important founding documents.
  3. Parks on Tap in West Philly: The family-friendly beer garden that benefits Philly parks, Parks on Tap comes to West Philly’s Clark Park this week.
  4. Last Day to See the Festive DNC Lights: Tonight is the last night you can see City Hall, 30th Street Station, and Boathouse Row all lit in festive, ebullient patriotic colors. Get your selfies and Instagram posts done tonight while you still can! If you miss tonight, you can still catch the Boathouse Row lights until July 29.
