Citizens Planning Institute (CPI) is a 7-week course that teaches Philadelphia residents about planning, zoning and the development process, to help empower you to create change in your neighborhoods.

Citizen Planners have saved historic buildings, improved schoolyards, organized their neighbors, and much more.

What Citizen Planners are saying:

“More and more people should participate in CPI because it instills people with one of the greatest forms of knowledge – the knowledge that you have the power to affect change.” – Spring 2016 Citizen Planner, North Central Philadelphia

“CPI has been wonderful in helping me detect the strengths of my community and providing the tools to enhance them.” – Fall 2015 Citizen Planner, Mayfair

“I’m 100% a product of CPI. I went from knowing no one to knowing a ton of people who could really support me in what I wanted to do.” – Fall 2015 Citizen Planner, Harrowgate

Classes for the Fall 2017 course will be on Wednesday evenings October 11 – November 15 in Center City.

Applications are being accepted through September 20; CPI receives over 100 applications for only 30 available spots!
