Philadelphia Parks & Recreation has over 70 indoor and outdoor pools open this summer season! Whether you’re looking to relax, get some laps in, or hang with friends in the water, heading to a Philly pool is a great way to cool off.

With so many visitors, it’s best to come to the pool prepared. Here are a few pro tips to make sure you stay safe and enjoy your time at a Parks & Rec pool.

1. Come prepared.

Wear a bathing suit. Street clothes, t-shirts, and basketball shorts are not allowed in the pool.

2. Pack light.

No coolers, inflatables, etc. are allowed. Bring your clothes, your towel, and sunscreen! Food and drink are not allowed on deck. Inflatables or swimmies are not allowed in the pool– only U.S. Coast Guard-stamped life jackets may be worn.

3. Have fun!

If you follow the rules and listen to the lifeguards, you’ll have a blast! Enjoy your time at the pool this summer.
