This summer, many of Philly’s parks will turn into outdoor movie theaters once dusk sets in. Some will feature refreshments, music, entertainment, raffles, and activities before showtime, so be sure to check for details.

Grab a blanket and head to your local park or playground to catch a flick with friends and neighbors. Every movie night is free!

Bartram’s Garden Movie Series (5400 Lindbergh Blvd., 19143)

Bartram’s Garden’s family outdoor movie night series is presented in partnership with the Southwest CDC. Join other community members after sundown in the courtyard for a free movie screening, with free popcorn, lemonade, and water. All movie nights have the option to arrive an hour early for a free twilight tour of the garden! Bring a blanket! Learn more at bartramsgarden.org.

Burholme Park Movie Series (Cottman Ave. and Central Ave.,19111)

Burholme Park will host four movie nights this summer, starting on June 20 with Beauty and the Beast. Movies will start at 8:30 p.m. and will be screened on the lawn across from Ryerss Museum & Library, but make sure to head out earlier for fun activities for the whole family. Movies in Clark Park will return for four Fridays in 2018, between August 10 and August 31. The park will transform into an outdoor amphitheater to showcase the films projected on a giant screen for the entire family to enjoy, with a 6 p.m. start for food vendors, and 8 p.m. movie start. The Chestnut Hill Community Association (CHCA) hosts their fourth annual free Movies Under the Stars series at Water Tower Recreation Center this summer! Bring family, friends, blankets, and lawn chairs. The fun starts on Fridays at 7 p.m. with local food trucks, so come early and enjoy a picnic before the 8 p.m. movie start.
