On May 16, the Youth Work Foundation celebrated 10 Philadelphia Parks & Recreation teenagers at the Union League as part of its annual Good Citizen Day.

The Good Citizen Day program featured a morning of presentations and workshops focused on the aspects of good citizenship. The afternoon included off-site programs at City Hall, where the honored students explored the different branches of government and their respective roles and responsibilities. The day ended with the Award Banquet, which was attended by many Union League members and special guests.

The Good Citizenship Award has been presented to more than 17,000 students, many of whom have become leaders in their chosen business or profession.

The 10 Parks & Rec representatives are involved at various recreation centers and playgrounds throughout the city, where they work or volunteer their time. The teenagers are camp counselors, cantors, basketball coaches, and more. They received the award to honor their work and dedication going above and beyond expectations. Parks & Rec is proud to have our nominated cohorts represent us annually on Good Citizen Day.
