Time is running out to apply for two Real Estate Tax Assistance Programs. These programs help homeowners pay their Real Estate Taxes, but applications are due before March 31. These include:

Real Estate Tax Installment Program application
This program is for all senior citizens, ages 65 or older, and low-income taxpayers who own and live in their home. It allows you to pay current-year Real Estate Tax bill in affordable, monthly installments. Income guidelines apply for those under 65.

Real Estate Tax Deferral Program application
If your Real Estate Tax has increased by more than 15% from the previous year, payment on the excess amount can be deferred until the property is transferred or sold. Income guidelines apply. Also, a minimal annual interest rate applies to the deferred amount.
